Limeswood Project

Limeswood Project

The People’s Partnership and Lincolnshire Heritage are working together on an exciting project!

As part of the Layers of History Project run by Heritage Lincolnshire which gives access to people ecology, history and archaeology in their local area, we are enabling small groups from hidden and hard to reach communities to access workshops to learn about ecology and history in their area and use tools and techniques to gather evidence themselves. The workshops are supported by experts and will be specially designed to meet the need of particular groups.

The main site of the workshops will be at Limeswood, next to Tupholme Abbey is situated East of Lincoln off the B1190 between Bardney and Horncastle. It is a historic site with ancient Woodland.

The Event will run from Monday 23rd September until Friday 4th October 2019. A full timetable of workshops, run by experienced tutors can be emailed, which includes:

· Landscape Photography
· Art workshops
· Historical cookery
· Wellbeing/ wildlife walks

We will have wheelchair accessible toilets on site and shelter from the elements. Spaces are limited for each session, although there is two whole weeks of morning and afternoon workshops available.

We are looking to work with organisations who support hidden and hard to reach communities. Funding for group travel hire is available to provide access for communities to be involved.

If you would like to be involved, please email:

We need to finalise numbers of groups and individuals attending as soon as possible to finalise the plans.
