Programme Overview

The programme is delivered over a 6 week period and each session is approximately 2 hours. We will be organising the programme to take place within the various districts across Lincolnshire, which will enable you to select the most suitable time and place near you.

On enquiring, you will be sent through a booking form, select your preferred start and location. Once the booking form is completed, you will receive confirmation of your place on the Peri Meri Menopause Programme. Please note places are limited on the programme, therefore once full you would be placed on a waiting list and notified should another individual drop out, or alternatively offered another suitable programme start.

Week 1 – Peri Meri Introductions and Symptoms

In this session, we have an introduction around the project, who is there, where are the facilities and all the necessary stuff – where are the loos!  We will also start to explore symptoms and what these are and how they affect you and those around you!

Week 2 – Symptoms and Mental Health

In this session we review what your symptoms were last time and how they affected you. We then look at the mental health implications, what the most common mental health issues raised through menopause are, how to recognise them and where across the county you can access support.

Week 3 – Medications

In this session, which is delivered by a health professional with a focus on menopause, we explore what are the hormones that affect us during menopause, how different medications can support and suppress some symptoms and what other options are available. We also look at HRT and any associated risks with comparisons and other symptoms such as bladder weakness.

Week 4 – Health & Wellbeing Menopause Market

The main aim of this session is to identify the various ways that you could support your menopause journey. We will be inviting various providers and practitioners who are experts in their fields, varying from large organisations that offer support across the county, to local practitioners that can all support you with a wide range of things, from mental health, gut health, herbal, diet, exercise, informing you about support available that can help you through your menopause journey (the range of providers attending will be per district and per programme as we aim to get local providers as well as across county)

Week 5 – Holistic Therapies Menopause Market

The main aim of this session mirrors that of health and wellbeing, accessing a wide range of providers that will help you identify a wide range of holistic therapies that could support you through your menopause journey.  This could be mindfulness, reflexology, menopause yoga, tapping (the range of providers attending will be per district and per programme as we aim to get local providers as well as across county).

Week 6 – What next?

In this session we will look back at the previous five weeks.  We will work through what you would like to have more of and identify what you would like to do for the future, by completing your own action plan and considering what you would like to do after the programme.  This information will also inform the extra sessions that will be delivered by providers in the future. You will also hear about any additional support that is available around menopause and mental health.
